At the end of July our garden room at Smitten received a well earned makeover. We removed all the stuff, my husband pulled up the tarp we were using for flooring and then he installed new flooring for us!
It’s not real wood, but it looks wonderful and flows better with the other rooms in the shop, which still have the original hardwood floors.
My very talented husband also made a couple of bookcases for me. These are made from reclaimed wood from different buildings in Fredericksburg.
I reconfigured the room and stocked it with new treasures I had been accumulating. And since I’ve taken way too long to post the makeover, some of these items have already found new homes.
The old magazine rack is still hanging around. The back folds up so it can also lay flat.
Cute little brown creamer.
Old metal skates in an enamel bowl.
My first real furniture painting project. I used homemade chalk paint to cover this little writing desk in a soft gray color.
Last week I gave the room another redo to incorporate some fall items. If you can bear a few more pictures, please keep reading!
This sweet little aqua pumpkin rests on a “Special Day” plate.
A little rust and pumpkins.
A bucket o’ decoupaged pumpkins.
Ironstone on display.
French vocabulary cards.
Awesome, mercury glass style pumpkin.
Italian phonics flashcards.
More pumpkins for fall.
This is an another project my husband helped me with. Chicken wire and an old burlap feed sack stretched behind a chippy window frame.
Be sure and stop by and shop with us!
